Isaiah 65:22–24 (NIV)

Introduction

Beloved, there is a difference between receiving a promise and seeing that promise fulfilled. God can speak a word over your life, plant a seed of destiny in your heart, and still require a season of waiting, planting, praying, struggling, and believing before the harvest appears.

The season of fulfillment is the moment when your waiting meets God’s timing, your planting meets your harvest, your labour meets its reward, and your prayer meets God’s answer. It is the season when what has been difficult becomes joyful, what has been delayed begins to manifest, and you finally produce lasting results.

Isaiah 65:22–24 declares this season with power:

“No longer will they build houses and others live in them,

or plant and others eat.

For as the days of a tree,

so will be the days of my people;

my chosen ones will long enjoy

the work of their hands.

They will not labor in vain,

nor will they bear children doomed to misfortune;

for they will be a people blessed by the LORD,

they and their descendants with them.

Before they call I will answer;

while they are still speaking I will hear.”

This is not just future prophecy for a distant age—it is a present promise for every believer who remains connected to God.

1. What Fulfillment Means

According to Webster’s dictionary, fulfillment is the state of accomplishment, completion, or the realization of a prophecy. Biblically, it carries two rich meanings:

(A) A deep sense of personal satisfaction—the successful completion of a goal or promise.

(B) The joy of living a meaningful life.

Fulfillment is more than receiving something; it is enjoying what God has given.

2. What the Season of Fulfillment Means

Enjoying the Fruit of Your Labor
Isaiah 65:22
God promises that His people will long enjoy the work of their hands. The season of fulfillment is when your hard work, sacrifice, and perseverance begin to produce results that you can personally enjoy.
Ending the Season of Vain Labor
Isaiah 65:23
“They will not labor in vain.” Fulfillment brings an end to fruitless effort. What has been barren becomes fruitful, what has been delayed begins to manifest, and your labor begins to produce the expected results.
Expecting God’s Perfect Timing
Isaiah 65:22
Fulfillment requires us to trust God’s timing. A promise may take time, but delay does not mean denial. When God’s appointed time comes, He can accomplish in a short time what seemed impossible for many years.
Experiencing Answered Prayer
Isaiah 65:24
“Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.” The season of fulfillment is also a season of answered prayer. God hears, knows, sees, and responds to the cries of His people according to His purpose.
Entering a Season of Fruitfulness
Isaiah 65:22–23
Fulfillment means moving from barrenness to fruitfulness. What has produced little or nothing begins to yield results. God brings fruit from your labor, faith, patience, and obedience.
Enjoying the Results of What You Have Built
Isaiah 65:22
Some people build but never enjoy what they build. In the season of fulfillment, God allows you to experience the benefits of what you have worked and sacrificed for.

Requirements for the Season of Fulfillment – The 4 W’s

Fulfillment is not automatic. To enter and remain in this season, God calls us to align our lives with four key requirements—the 4 W’s:

1) WALK with God

Remain connected to the Lord and maintain a prayerful life.

Isaiah 65:23:

“…for they will be a people blessed by the LORD…”

John 15:5:

“Apart from me you can do nothing.”

Isaiah 65:24:

“Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.”

You remain connected through prayer, worship, and obedience. Keep praying even when you enter your season of fulfillment.

Prayer is not only for the waiting season—it is the lifestyle of those who walk with a responsive God.
Abide in Him and you will bear much fruit.

2) WORK Faithfully

Be faithful in your assignment, refuse to labour in vain, and develop wisdom and stewardship.

Isaiah 65:22:

“My chosen ones will long enjoy the work of their hands.”

Isaiah 65:23:

“They will not labor in vain…”

Psalm 90:17:

“Establish the work of our hands for us—yes, establish the work of our hands.”

Galatians 6:9:

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

God’s fulfillment involves the work He has entrusted to you.

Do not abandon what God has given you simply because the results are taking time. Refuse empty, directionless effort.
Work under God’s guidance and steward wisely whatever He places in your hands so that it is preserved and multiplied.
Remain faithful even when you have not yet seen the harvest.

3) WAIT Patiently

Exercise patience—fulfillment has a God-appointed time.

Habakkuk 2:3 (NIV):

“For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.”

4) WHOLLY Trust His Word

Believe God’s promises. Have faith and confidence that God is able to do what He has promised.

Romans 4:20–21: (Abraham)

“Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.”

Abraham was fully persuaded.

Be fully persuaded. Stand on the Word of God without wavering.

Beloved, the season of fulfillment is here for those who Walk with God, Work faithfully, Wait patiently, and Wholly trust His Word.

What has been difficult is about to become joyful.

What has been delayed is about to begin to manifest.

You will produce results.
